Stretching from southern Mozambique to northern South Africa, the Maputaland Hope Spot is a connected marine ecosystem where species, habitats, and conservation challenges cross national borders. Co-Champion Marcos Pereira works alongside Grant Brokensha to build the scientific evidence needed to better understand this ecological connectivity and support stronger, coordinated protection across the region.
