New ocean Hope Spots, vetted by IUCN and Mission Blue, to ignite global support for ocean protection

Mission Blue and IUCN announced 14 new Hope Spots at the 2016 IUCN World Conservation Congress in Hawaiʻi, expanding a growing global network of marine areas critical to ocean health. Selected through a rigorous scientific review process and nominated by citizens and organisations worldwide, these Hope Spots help build public support for stronger ocean protection and community-led conservation.
